The Canadian company Moon World Resorts Inc. is developing a massive destination resort in the form of the moon. The building will cost USD 5 billion to construct and have a height of 735 feet. The resort aims to complement the city’s existing plethora of extravagance and tourist attractions, such as the Dubai Mall and Atlantis Palm Jumeirah. It is anticipated that this new resort will host roughly 2.5 million visitors a year.
The newest themed hotel on the block, Moon in Dubai, is anticipated to further strengthen the city’s economy in the hospitality, entertainment, tourism, education, technology, environment, and space tourism sectors. The 10-acre site will have 300 private sky villas for living, a nightclub, a wellness center, and hotel rooms. A lunar colony will be present there as well as a “lunar surface” surrounding the area. This will make it possible for anyone who wants to travel to space on a budget to do so. Residents of the sky villas will also join the resort’s elite private club.
The company is currently acquiring licenses and organizing road shows to advertise the Moon to prospective customers. “MWR is currently organizing a global road-show series for 2023 to introduce Moon to possible regional licensees. According to Henderson, the property will undergo a one-year pre-development programme, followed by a four-year build-out programme, once the MENA regional license has been obtained and the precise location has been determined.
Moon Dubai will be proposed to operate under gold LEED certification, a 5-star built-out standard, and a 5-diamond resort operational standard. MWR is also anticipated to license four Moon destination resorts around the world: one in each of North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia (MENA), and Asia.
