There are also several smaller supermarkets and mini-marts dotting the neighbourhood, to help residents get their basic day-to-day essentials. The affectionately named Pink Shops in Khalifa City A, is a row of buildings with stores on both sides. You will find groceries, salons, dry cleaners, barbers and more, these are a firm favourite with the suburbs residents and even with the citizens of Abu Dhabi. There are quite a few mosques in Shakhbout City, including the Bani Hashim, a sandy-hued structure that is central to the suburb. The Mar Thoma Church in Abu Dhabi is the closest church to Khalifa City B which is 13 minutes away. A temple is set to open its doors to Abu Dhabi residents in 2022, but at the moment the closest temple is in Jebel Ali, Dubai which is over an hours’ drive away.
