Dubai has launched a new digital tool allowing residents to register their Ejari rentals directly via WhatsApp. This service, introduced by Injaz Real Estate Registration Trustee with support from the Dubai Land Department (DLD), uses the Aqari platform to simplify registration. Ejari on WhatsApp in Dubai removes the need for office visits, offering a seamless, remote process accessible globally.
This move aligns with Dubai's broader vision of digital transformation and smart governance. Through the Aqari platform, users can now register or update their Ejari contracts using an automated WhatsApp chat interface. With guided prompts and real-time interaction, the system enables efficient communication with certified service trustees.
The WhatsApp-based process is not limited to Ejari services. Users can also handle title deed amendments, ownership transfers, property valuations, and map issuance directly within the chat interface. This multi-functionality strengthens Dubai's positioning as a leader in innovative urban services.
Introduced by the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) under the DLD, Ejari ensures all rental agreements in Dubai are legally recorded. Tenants must obtain an Ejari certificate to activate DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) services, apply for residency visas, and access facilities management services. Landlords benefit as well, gaining legal protection and clarity in contract enforcement.
Without a valid Ejari, tenants risk facing issues in court disputes, rental service requests, and visa processes. Hence, the introduction of this digital pathway makes it significantly easier to stay compliant.
To use the service, tenants can visit the Aqari website and click on the WhatsApp icon, which redirects them to a conversation window. From there, a step-by-step process is initiated, offering pre-set options and uploading capabilities for relevant documents.
Currently, ten authorized trustees are available through the platform to support users. The interface is designed for speed, clarity, and security. According to Injaz officials, all transactions are processed via government-secured channels, ensuring data privacy and compliance.
Changing Market Dynamics
The introduction of Ejari on WhatsApp in Dubai comes amid evolving rental trends. Data from property consultancy Allsopp & Allsopp indicates a 19% decline in rental renewals by volume and a 17% drop in renewal value for May 2025. Conversely, new rental contract volumes rose by 15% and values by 9%, suggesting a shift in tenant preferences.
The digital Ejari initiative is well-timed, meeting the growing demand for remote services as residents explore suburban rental markets to counter rising urban rents.
Officials at the Dubai Land Department have emphasized the importance of public-private cooperation in achieving their service modernization goals. Khalifa Alsalfa, Director of the Real Estate Services Pioneering Department, stated that such initiatives reinforce Dubai's global standing as a real estate hub.
Majid Almazrouei, General Manager of Injaz, added that the goal is to simplify essential real estate transactions for customers across the globe. By allowing clients to complete their Ejari registration entirely online, the platform ensures convenience, efficiency, and universal accessibility.
Initially rolled out in August 2024, the Aqari platform began as a service channel for remote property documentation. Its June 2025 upgrade to include Ejari registration marks a significant expansion. Today, Aqari is among the most comprehensive digital real estate service platforms in the region.
Its capabilities now cover a full suite of property-related processes, making it an essential tool for residents, investors, and landlords alike. The platform reflects Dubai’s continued push toward a paperless, efficient government model.
One of the core benefits of Ejari on WhatsApp in Dubai is its accessibility from anywhere in the world. Whether users are in the city or abroad, they can complete their rental registration without delay. This convenience is especially vital for international tenants, remote property owners, and digital nomads with interests in the Dubai property market.
The rollout exemplifies how urban services can adapt to global lifestyles while maintaining regulatory compliance and service quality.
The integration of Ejari on WhatsApp in Dubai marks a transformative shift in how rental services are delivered. With streamlined processes, legal protection, and round-the-clock global access, the initiative sets a new standard for real estate administration.
As the emirate advances its smart city agenda, services like these not only support resident convenience but also elevate Dubai's reputation for innovation in governance and urban living.
